About

I started my career in credit decisioning in December 2015, working as a decisioning analyst on a large-scale credit risk transformation programme for one of the UK’s largest retail banks. It was my first exposure to how complex lending systems are designed, built, and operated — and how easily things can go wrong if the foundations aren’t right.

Since then, I’ve worked across a range of transformation projects in the UK lending market, from the country’s largest mortgage lenders to early-stage start-up lenders only a couple of years into their journey. Those roles have given me experience across very different operating models, levels of maturity, and delivery challenges.

Over that time, I’ve worked across multiple lending products in both retail and business banking, taking on hands-on data and development roles, advisory and consulting positions, and management responsibilities. This has allowed me to see lending systems from multiple perspectives — risk, technology, delivery, and operations — rather than through a single lens.

Across more than ten years in credit decisioning and lending technology, I’ve seen initiatives succeed and fail, often for the same underlying reasons. I’ve learned that getting the fundamentals right early — data, system design, ownership, and the alignment between business intent and technical implementation — makes a far bigger difference than any individual tool or vendor choice.

Today, my focus is on sharing that experience with clients in a practical, grounded way. Whether that’s supporting a long-term transformation programme or having a one-off conversation to sense-check an approach, I aim to provide clear, honest guidance based on what I’ve seen work in real-world lending environments.
